Winter Weather likely for NE Oklahoma

After a few days of tracking the weather patterns, it appears that NE Oklahoma will see some winter weather this week.  Counties in the SE corner of the state are the first to be placed under winter weather advisories and warnings.  It doesn’t look like it’ll be a major storm for the Tulsa area, but we could see up to 3” of accumulation between now and Tuesday morning.

The latest bulletins from the National Weather Service forecasts precipitation beginning on Sunday in some areas, continuing through Monday night.

However, the frozen stuff isn’t what is of major concern, the wind chill temperatures are.  Forecasts are indicating overnight low temperatures will be dropping to a very cold 8° Tuesday night with wind chills below zero.  Residents should be preparing for this extreme cold and the potential that driving could become hazardous.
