After several days of moderate weather, a cold front moving into our area will bring us cooler temperatures and development of showers and thunderstorms beginning tonight. Although the storms are not expected to become severe, there’s the potential for lightning, periods of heavy rain and gusty winds.
Activation is not anticipated at this time.
Rain will stay in the forecast through Tuesday, with high temps in the upper 40’s to low 50’s and low temps in the mid to upper 30’s. Total rainfall amounts for the next couple of days could be 1-3″.
The NWS is forecasting:
- Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 50. Northeast wind between 5 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Sunday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 54. Calm wind becoming northwest between 6 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
- Sunday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 40. North wind between 8 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Monday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 47. North northwest wind around 10 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
